These headbands are really fun and so quick to make. All you need is ribbon (or make your own) and a hair elastic.
2. Cut the ribbon this measurement - 1". Seal the ribbon ends to prevent fraying, and/or zigzag when sewing.
3. Fold ribbon around the hair elastic. Sew. We sewed back and forth a number of times to make it strong.
If you measure the ribbon from your finished project and make a note of the measurement, future headbands will be much quicker and you can skip the fit step.
By the way, the ones we make fit me, as well as, my daughter. The elastic is a nice way of adding a bit of ease to fit many wearers.
Happy Sewing!

Adorable!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the compliment! I like your blog. I was wondering how hard it would be to alter the patchwork jumper for a not-so-twiggy granddaughter -- she's 8 and wears a 12/14 around but is only 45 inches tall.
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting to make some headbands for Vanessa. Don't know how I missed this tute. Thank you!!
