This peasant dress/shirt pattern is designed to be easy to fit and quick to assemble, yet stylish. With just one pattern piece you will make a dress or shirt and the sleeve. You can vary the length of the dress/shirt to create a dress of any length, shirt, or tunic, and even a nightgown. The shirt looks great paired with the Cute and Quick Pants, also designed by SquigglyTwigs Designs.
You have control of the bottom width to make it as straight or as full as you please. The sleeve length is also up to you, from cap length to long, variations are endless. A bit of shirring (or elastic casing) at the empire waist line or upper arm can change the design again. Lastly, by using a contrasting ruffle or sleeve you can add your own personal style.
